It hasn't yet been officially announced,
but some details of the Samsung i7110 have been
let slip by Samsung along with a low-resolution
picture (below) that give a good idea about the successor
to the Samsung
i550 Symbian smartphone. Although we don't have
the full details, we do have enough for a mockup (pictured
right) along with a pretty decent set of technical specifications.
The
Samsung i7110 is a 3.5G device with a GPS receiver,
a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash,
a multimedia player, microSD expandable memory (up to
16GB) and an FM radio. The i7110 also features a 240
x 320 pixel OLED screen capable of displaying up
to 262,000 colours.
At a guess, the Symbian implementation
will be similar to the one on the excellent Samsung
i8510, but the handset itself is much more conventional
to look at, and it measures 118 x 52 x 13mm which is
a bit more pocket friendly than some similar smartphones.
We understand that the i7110 will be
launched by Samsung at the Symbian Smartphone Show in
London on the 21st to the 22nd October when hopefully
we can give you some more details. The market availability
of the i7110 might be a bit limited, but it does look
like an interesting choice for people who want a more
traditional Symbian capable device.
