Siemens MC60
Discontinued 25th October 2003
The Siemens MC60 is a smart looking,
low cost, camera phone designed with the leisure market
in mind. Using interchangeable covers and coming with
a range of polyphonic ringtones, the Siemens MC60 is
also designed in a striking X-shape to make this a very
pretty phone indeed. The Siemens MC60 is available in
three colours, Aquamarine, Titanium and Grenadine.
Camera operation is designed to be simple
and quick - Siemens say that you can take a photo on
the MC60 and send it to a friend in just two button
presses. What is impressive is that Siemens
MC60 manages to fit this into a tiny 86 gram package
measuring 109 x 46 x 21 mm (image shown actual size
on a 72dpi monitor). Battery life is about 5 hours talk
time and 10 days standby.
The sales pitch for this is that the
MC60 is the lowest priced camera phone ever, and it's
impressive that Siemens have managed to control the
costs on what they could easily market as a high-end
mobile.
Not a bad phone at all, but Siemens
lack the market punch of Nokia, Sony Ericsson or Samsung
these days, however with such a strong range of mobiles
they should start to regain some market share.
