Siemens CL75 Poppy
Discontinued 22nd October 2005
The Siemens CL75 Poppy is due for release
in the UK and Ireland in late October and November 2005.
Possibly the ultimate "girlie"
phone, the CL75 Poppy comes with an attractive poppy
design that goes around the entire case and it comes
with a Swarovski crystal charm too.
It's a simple handset in technical terms,
with a 128x160 pixel display and VGA resolution camera.
There's an external sub-display too. One unusual feature
of the main display in that it can be used as a mirror.
There's a WAP browser and instant messaging
client, but no email client. It also doesn't have an
MP3 player, nor does the CL75 support Bluetooth. Talktime
is just 3 hours with 9 days standby time. Physically
the CL75 measures 87x44x23mm and weighs 90 grams.
The short talktime and lack of Bluetooth
limit the functionality of the CL75 somewhat. It certainly
looks like a good leisure phone, and possibly a good
second phone too.
Currently O2 and Virgin Mobile in the
UK have announced that they are going to carry the Siemens
CL75 Poppy. Usually Vodafone will also carry the same
handsets as O2, but there is no confirmation of this
at preset.
There are a series of launch events
in the UK for this handset, so if you're really keen
on the CL75 Poppy, click
