Samsung S7330 (GT-S7330)
Discontinued
5th September 2008
The Samsung S7330 is closely related to the fashionable
Samsung
Soul handset, featuring the novel DaCP "Magical
Touch" control pad in a smart looking slider format.
As with the Soul, the S7330 is also an HSDPA capable
3.5G phone, but in this case the camera is only 3 megapixels
compared with 5 on the Soul.. but it is still a pretty
good camera as it has autofocus, a flash and face detection.
There is also a secondary video calling camera.
There's a music player, FM radio, microSD expandable
memory, document viewer, web browser and email client.
The S7330 also features a one-touch way of doing Google
searches and integrates with Google mail.
The
display is a 2.2" QVGA panel in 16 million colours,
which is basically the same as on the Soul.
Samsung say the the S7330 has up to 7 hours talktime
and 14 days standby time, but we guess that these are
GSM-only figures as the puny 880 mAh battery looks a
bit underpowered. The S7330 measures 105 x 49 x 14mm
and weighs 110 grams.
There's multimedia support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+,
WMA, AMR, MIDI and WAV audio plus MPEG4, WMV and H.264
video clips, so the Samsung S7330 scores quite well
here too.
It's not a bad looking handset, but it isn't as impressive
as the fashionable Soul. But underneath, the S7330 is
nearly identical.
We suppose that this is meant to be a cheaper alternative
to the Soul, but at the moment Samsung have given no
guidance on pricing or even when the S7330 will
become available. But if you've been saving up for a
Soul, perhaps the S7330 would be a good alternative
instead.
