Samsung S3600 (GT-S3600) Preview
Discontinued 6th October 2008
We don't have the full technical specifications
of the Samsung S3600 just yet, but it is clear
that this is a quite stylish but rather simple clamshell
phone that takes at least some styling tips from
the Samsung
Soul.
This
is a GSM-only device with a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD
expandable memory (up to 2GB), Bluetooth, media player and
an FM radio. As far as we can tell, the Samsung S3600
has a 176 x 220 pixel display.
There are a couple of unusual features
though - Samsung say that the S3600 comes with a "Mobile
Tracker" application that helps to preserve the
confidentiality of any data if the phone is lost or
stolen. It also has an emergency signal, although exact
details aren't clear.. presumably this is some sort
of audible alarm, which seems like a good idea.
This isn't a 3G phone, but it does have
EDGE data support. The S3600 can also record and play
back MPEG4 and H.263 video formats and it supports direct
photo printing via Bluetooth.
There's no wording on pricing or availability,
but it looks like Russia will be one early market.
