Samsung Monte Slider E2550

Samsing Monte Slider E2550 Available now
21st February 2010

The Samsung Monte S5620 is an upcoming touchscreen phone that looks quite interesting, but the confusingly named Samsung Monte Slider E2550 is completely different.  Apart from the name and the Samsung badge, there is very little in common between these two devices apart from some styling details.

Like the disappointing Samsung Shark range, the Monte slider is.. well, disappointing. In fact, it's not far off the specification of the Samsung Shark 3 which is a similarly underpowered slider phone.

The Monte Slider has a 2.0" 240 x 320 pixel display, 1.3 megapixel camera, social networking support, microSD expandable memory, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

It's pretty lightweight at 86 grams, and the 800 mAh battery is quoted as giving over 6 hours talktime and 16 days standby time.

The Monte Slider is a somewhat stylish looking phone, but the small screen, low resolution camera and lack of 3G means that it is very basic. We can only assume that Samsung intend to make the Monte Slider an attractive price proposition as there is very little else going for it.
