Samsung i450 (SGH-i450) Preview
Discontinued / cancelled 29th August
2007
The Samsung SGH-i450 is a Symbian smartphone
running the S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 operating
system. It's a 3G device with a 2 megapixel primary
camera with flash, plus a secondary camera for video
calling.
The display is a 2.4" 240x320
pixel panel in 262,000 colours. The Samsung i450 also
has microSD expandable memory, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth
2.0.
The SGH-i450 doesn't look like a standard
Samsung slider, and indeed there's a passing resemblance
here to the Toshiba
G500.
The unique feature with the Samsung
i450 is the two-way slider mechanism, in principle somewhat
similar to the Nokia
N95. However, instead of revealing a set of multimedia
keys, the SGH-i450 has a speaker that pops out of the
top instead.
The exact specification of the SGH-i450,
and its pricing and availability are not known at
the time of going to press. We hope to see more details
from Samsung soon.
