The Samsung Galaxy Young and Samsung Galaxy Fame are two closely related handsets, not only coming with very silly sounding names but both sporting a modest specification designed to keep the price down.
The smaller of the two is the Galaxy Young (not to be confused with the old Galaxy Y) with a 3.27" 320 x 480 pixel display, a 1GHz single-core CPU with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, a 3 megapixel camera and all the usual features such as GPS, WiFi and 3.5G support, a microSD slot and Bluetooth 3.0. The Galaxy Young will be available in dual-SIM or single-SIM versions and will run Android 4.1. A little bit bigger, the Galaxy Fame has a 3.5" 320 x 480 pixel display, a 5 megapixel camera with a VGA resolution sub-camera for video calls, a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard flash storage, GPS plus GLONASS support, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, 3.5G and all the normal Android 4.1 stuff as well, NFC is optional and the Galaxy Fame is also available in dual-SIM and single-SIM versions.
Samsung haven't said when these handsets will be available, but these are pretty undemanding devices technically so we would expect to see them soon. There's no word on pricing, but we would expect them to be somewhere in the region of €150 SIM-free when they come out.
