Samsung Galaxy Y Pro

Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Available now
10th September 2011

An entry-level messaging smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Y Pro is aimed primarily at the youth market.

Presumably aimed at poaching younger customers away from BlackBerry Curve phones, the Galaxy Y Pro has a small 2.6" 320 x 240 pixel touchscreen display, a 3 megapixel camera on the back, GPS, WiFi and 3.5G connectivity and all the usual Android features.

In truth, it's not a very exciting device and because it isn't a BlackBerry then it doesn't support BlackBerry Messenger, which drives a lot of sales of cheap BlackBerry devices with younger customers who want to keep in touch with their friends or co-ordinate some looting.

Although Android devices such as this have a massive number of applications available for them, the Galaxy Y Pro is a bit of a dead loss when it comes to things like gaming due to the small screen size.

The Galaxy Y Pro is a bit below the earlier Galaxy Pro in terms of specification, our best guess is that this will retail for well under €200 when it hits the shops, probably by Christmas.
