Sporting what is perhaps the daftest name for a phone so far this year, the Samsung Galaxy Win is a big screen device with relatively modest specifications and presumably a pretty reasonable price tag.
The big 4.7" display is the same size as many high-end devices, but the modest 480 x 800 pixel resolution panel has less than one-fifth of the pixel count of the new Galaxy S4. Inside is a fairly speedy 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard flash storage plus a microSD slot. On the back is a 5 megapixel camera with 720p 15fps video recording, with a 0.3 megapixel unit on the front for video calling. The Samsung Galaxy Win supports 3.5G HSPA data, but not HSPA+ or LTE. GPS is supported (but not GLONASS), and the Galaxy Win has Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi and an FM radio. Inside is a 2000 mAh battery, and the handset measures 133 x 71 x 9.7mm and weighs a fairly hefty 144 grams.
This is an Android 4.1 smartphone with the usual Samsung software enhancements. Although the hardware specifications of the Galaxy Win are quite modest, it should be able to run just about anything that you want it to with the added bonus of a large screen to read it on. The will be a dual-SIM and a single-SIM version available depending on market. Available colour schemes are Ceramic White and Titan Grey. We don't know how much the Samsung Galaxy Win will cost, but it will be a lot less expensive than the new Galaxy S4. Samsung haven't said when it will be available, but recent experience suggests that the Galaxy Win will hit the markets very soon.
