Motorola W510
Discontinued 27th February 2007
It would be easy.. very easy.. to state
the obvious when writing about the Motorola W510, so
let's start by trying to find something about this handset
that's a little different.
Well, there are a couple of things.
We understand that the W510 has about 7 hours of talktime
and 14 days standby time, which is pretty good. And
the "W" designation usually means that the
handset is likely to be very inexpensive. And this really
is the whole point with the Motorola W510 - it's a pretty
stylish and well specified phone with good battery life..
and it's one that one cost too much.
In technical terms, the Motorola W510
is a close match for Motorola
RAZR V3i - there's a 1.9" 176x220 pixel display,
1.3 megapixel camera, microSD expandable memory
(2GB maximum), quad-band GSM with GPRS and EDGE data,
a multimedia player and stereo Bluetooth.
Of course, the RAZR V3i has been around
for a while now and the price has come down a lot,
but the W510 has around twice the talktime which is
a significant advantage.
In our opinion, the world really doesn't
need another RAZR-style handset, but if you're in the
market for this type of device then it looks to be a
pretty good option.
