Available now 11th November 2014
The Microsoft Lumia 535 is notable for two reasons - firstly
it is the first Lumia to be branded with "Microsoft" rather
than "Nokia", and secondly it represents almost insanely
good value for money priced at around €110 before taxes and subsidy.

Although it isn't exactly a flagship device, the specifications
of the Lumia 535 are exceptionally impressive considering the price
tag. It includes a 5" 540 x 960 pixel touchscreen, a 5 megapixel
primary camera with flash and 480p video capture plus a 5 megapixel
secondary one on the front.
This is a 3.5G capable device with a download speeds of up to
42Mbps (but no LTE support), it also has WiFi and Bluetooth
4.0 connectivity, GPS and GLONASS positioning systems and everything
else that you would expect to find in a smartphone these days.
Inside
is a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard
flash storage plus a microSD slot, and it has a 1905 mAh battery. There
is 15GB of cloud storage too, and the Lumia 535 runs Windows Phone
8.1 with Lumia Denim.
Physically, it looks pretty much like any other Lumia except
the Nokia branding has gone from the outside and it just says Microsoft
instead. It isn't the sexiest brand in the world, and perhaps the
opportunity to swap NOKIA for LUMIA might had been more pleasing,
but it is what it is. Available colours will be cyan, bright green,
orange, white, grey and black.
It isn't the snazziest phone in the world, but considering that
it will retail for a bit more than the price of a tank of petrol
then it is a highly impressive package. Microsoft say that it will
start shipping in select markets this month in single-SIM and dual-SIM
configurations.
