One of a trio of "L Style" devices announced earlier this year, the LG Optimus L5 falls into LG's "looks expensive but isn't" range of handsets.
The key features of the LG Optimus L5 are a relatively large but fairly low-resolution 4.0" 320 x 480 pixel display, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash on the back, 4GB of internal flash storage plus a microSD slot and an 800 MHz processor. The Optimus L5 runs Android 4.0 out of the box, so you'll get the latest version of the Android OS without any fuss.
There are two variations of the Optimus L5, a dual-SIM version for Asia, Central and South America, the CIS and Middle East and a NFC-equipped single-SIM version for North America and the rest of Europe. If you live in Europe and want a dual-SIM version, it might be possible to get one from a specialist company.
The Optimus L5 is a smart looking and quite slim device measuring 118 x 67 x 9.5mm. The design is somewhat reminiscent of the old LG Chocolate range, and it can probably best be described as good looking but unmemorable. No guidance was given on how much the Optimus L5 will cost, but given the relative prices of the L3 and L7, we would expect to see this coming in at a little less than €200 SIM-free when it hits the markets later this month.
