July 2011 Roundup |
|||||||
31st July 2011 The summer months tend to be quiet when it comes to new releases, but we saw a varied bunch of devices being announced this month to ship later in the year.
MotorolaThe Motorola DROID 3 was no secret at all, and while this latest top-of-the range Android device is heading exclusively to Verizon Wireless in the US, we can expect to see an announcement of the GSM version very soon indeed. At the opposite end of the Android market, the Motorola FIRE (or SPICE Key, or XT316) is a low cost Android messaging device that looks very much like a BlackBerry.
LGA pair of cheap-ish Android phonees, the LG Optimus Net is a fairly basic but still very usable device that sits near the bottom of LG's smartphone range, alongside the LG Optimus Pro which is yet another BlackBerry-style Android messaging device.
Other ManufacturersAn exquisitely designed, exclusive and very expensive Android smartphone, the TAG Heuer LINK is certainly impressive, but is it worth it? And what is probably the world's first Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango" device, the Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T is heading exclusively to KDDI in Japan.
