The saga of the Samsung M8800 / Pixon
/ Bresson or whatever it is called rolls on. Although
Samsung haven't yet announced the M8800, they have produced
a web site called The
Photographic Adventures of Nick Turpin due to go
live on the second of October.
Samsung have produced an email flyer
with some pretty detailed pictures (see below) but they
don't add much to the specifications that we
have already given except to add that the M8800
Pixon has face detection, shake reduction, high-speed
video capture and surround sound. To recap the rest
of the specifications - this is a 3.5G device with a
3.2" 240 x 400 pixel touchscreen display, an 8
megapixel camera with dual LED flash, a comprehensive
multimedia player and we also think that it has an FM
radio and some sort of GPS functionality. For more specifications
click
here.

Samsung have used the Pixon name
throughout the sparse publicity they have producted,
not the Bresson name that was first
indicated.

Samsung have some additional flyers here,
here
and here
which give an idea of Samsung's marketing campaign.
Presumably, the official launch date
is the 2nd October which is also rumoured to
be the date when Nokia may announce their own touchscreen
phone. Coincidence?
