14th February 2010

A sneak peek at some upcoming models courtesy of Samsung's MWC Flickr Account shows some unannounced devices due to be showcased at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona next week.

Samsung Monte Slider E2550

Launched just days after the Samsung Monte S5620, the Samsung Monte Slider E2550 is a very different beast.

The E2550 looks to be a basic slider phone, but sharing the same glossy back, navigation key layout and a few other styling elements from its bigger and more powerful sibling.

The pictures give away very little, but it does appear to have just a basic 128 x 160 pixel display (CORRECTION: it's a small 2.0" QVGA panel) . Not a huge surprise perhaps given that the Monte Slider finds itself in Samsung's "E Series" of budget phones.

A more interesting device than the slider, the Samsung Monte Bar C3200 is a conventional monoblock design, but is shares the slight wedge shape that the touchscreen phone has.

The screen is much larger than the slider, appearing to be a QVGA panel, and the Monte Bar also comes with a microSD card slot. We can't see a front-facing camera, so we assume that this is a GSM-only device.

The matt ribbed pattern on the back of the Monte Bar indicates that perhaps the phone has been ruggedised a little.

It might not look like much to begin with, but the Samsung E2370 does appear to be very similar to the Samsung B2100, a surprise best-seller from last year and a handset that we like for its almost indestructible qualities and sheer sense of fun.

There's a flashlight visible at the top of the phone, and the overall ribbing and shape is very similar to the B2100, the display also seems to be a basic 128 x 160 pixel panel which is again the same as the B2100.

As far as we can tell, the major physical difference is a slightly different keyboard layout, but who knows what Samsung might reveal.
