Nokia's New Nseries Phones: N72, N73 and N93
Available now 25th April 2006
These three latest Nseries phones from Nokia introduce
a few new concepts, but in the main they build on existing
Nseries handsets for inspiration. All phones run the
Symbian S60 operating system. We'll have a closer look
later, but in summary the new phones are as follows.

The Nokia N72 (left) is essentially a 2G version
of the N70 with EDGE instead of 3G, plus enhanced multimedia
playback, dedicated media controls and an FM radio.
All the other technical characteristics are almost identical
to the N70.
The 3G Nokia N73 (centre) is perhaps more of an obvious
upgrade from the N70, and the focus here is on the camera
and digital imaging, with a large 2.4" 240x320
pixel display, 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl
Zeiss optics, FM radio, expandable memory, video calling,
multimedia player and stereo speakers. It can also upload
pictures to Flickr.
Finally, the Nokia N93 (right) is designed to double
as a digital camera and camcorder, with a 3.2 megapixel
camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 30fps video capture,
TV output, a 240x320 pixel display and expandable memory.
It looks rather like the Nokia N92 with the multiway
hinge. The N93 features the best camera Nokia have produced
to date.
Nokia also announced that the N71 and N80 handsets
have started shipping, in addition the the N70, N90
and N91 devices that are already available.
