Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Unboxing
26th January 2009
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic ships in
a relatively compact box measuring about 190 x 140 x
70 mm. It doesn't look as though there can be much in
there!
There are several layers to the box,
all very tightly packed. Firstly, a brightly coloured
flap. Underneath that is the phone, and underneath the
phone is an odd little bit of card indicating where
you should insert the SIM.
First we find a fairly standard Nokia
charger, then a small set of documentation. Underneath
those are a mass of accessories and cables. The box
contains everything you will possibly need, which is
nice.
The front
and back of the phone, still with the protective covering
on.
As we said, there's a lot in
the box. But where is the battery and memory card? Well,
this is a review model and they were both already installed.

Add the documentation in, and you can
see that this is a pretty comprehensive collection of
bits.

The SIM card sits in through a slot
in the side, something that is quite rare. The microSD
card is already installed in the adjacent slot, and
the battery was already in this unit.. something else
that is unusual.
The battery is a high-capacity BL-5J
1320 mAh unit. It would be nice to see this particular
battery more often as it packs plenty of juice. In the
first picture, you can see how tiny the camera actually
is.
Powering the unit up. Annoyingly, it tries
to sell us something called "My Nokia" when
you first start it up.
