Nokia 105 |

now The Nokia 105 takes the crown as Nokia's cheapest ever mobile phone, coming in at just €15 before tax and subsidy. And for the first time, Nokia have done away with monochrome screens, instead shipping the 105 with a colour display.
Obviously, all Nokia fans would probably want a Lumia 920, but it's about thirty times more expensive which rather puts it out of the range of many potential customers. So what exactly do you get for this much money? The first thing to notice is the colour display, a 1.45" 128 x 128 pixel TFT panel. This may be basic, but it really does improve the user experience a lot. There's an inbuilt flashlight and FM radio (which requires an optional headset), a speaking clock, up to 5 preloaded games and in some markets there will also be Nokia Life included.
Weighing just 70 grams, the Nokia 105 has a splashproof and dustproof keymat and an 800 mAh battery which gives up to 12.5 hours talktime and 35 days standby time. There are two colours available, cyan and black.. and that really is about it. The Nokia 105 doesn't have a camera, can't access the internet, play MP3s or support Bluetooth. Then, you wouldn't expect that for this sort of price, would you?
Nokia are promoting the 105 as both a handset for emerging markets and also something that you can keep around as an emergency spare. It should start to roll out during Q1 2013 in several markets worldwide with China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Russia and Vietnam being picked out individually, although at this price we can see quite a bit of demand in other markets too. |
