Motorola
RAZR XX Preview
Expected
H2 2006 28th July 2006
The Motorola
RAZR XX is Motorola's second HSPDA(3.5G) RAZR
handset announced this week, alongside the Motorola
RAZR MAXX. Quite why
Motorola needed to develop two such similar handsets
is a mystery, but here it is anyway.
In fairly typical Motorola fashion,
there's not much information about the physical characteristics
of the RAZR XX
at launch. We can't tell you how big it is, how heavy
it is or how long the battery will last for. Motorola
say that the RAZR XX has
a 2.2 inch screen, which indicates that it's probably
a 240x320 pixel panel.
It looks very much like the RAZR
V3i from the outside, but there are subtle differences
in the styling that indicates that this isn't just a
V3i with HSDPA crammed into it. To quote Motorola, the
RAZR XX
has an "updated & streamlined Motorola RAZR
V3 design".
Also featured in the Motorola
RAZR XX is stereo Bluetooth,
a 1.3 megapixel camera plus VGA secondary camera, microSD
expandable memory, an MP3 player and EDGE support in
addition to HSDPA and
UMTS. Availability should
be sometime in the second half of 2006, although no
more precise details are known at this point.
