The BELLPERRE NERO GOLD is the latest luxury handmade handset from the exclusive BELLPERRE company. A visually striking design, the NERO GOLD demands attention - even the product name is spelled out in capitals.

This particular version of the BELLPERRE handset combines polished silver or gold buttons combines with a brushed black steel finish plus a black leather back.

As you might guess, this particular BELLPERRE is not cheap, starting at €1180 for the basic model up to €1620 for the version with gold buttons. This puts it roughly in the price range of the Motorola AURA and it is substantially less than the TAG Heuer MERIDIIST.

The casing is scratch-resistant and is manufactured through a long and complicated process to maintain quality. The display is made from a single piece of sapphire crystal, also to prevent scratching. And despite the high-quality materials, the whole handset weighs a pretty reasonable 120 grams.

Handsets like this are primarily about exclusivity and craftmanship, anyone looking for cutting-edge technological features really needs to look elsewhere. Underneath, this is a tri-band GSM phone with a 2 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6, 1GB of internal memory, a 2" 176 x 220 pixel display, stereo Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

It sounds a bit basic, but really the BELLPERRE does exactly what you need it to do - it will make phone calls, synchronise with your contacts and email, take an occasional snapshot, allow you to play some music while waiting in the airport and even do a bit of web surfing. If you own a BELLPERRE then you probably have things like satellite navigation already built into your car and own a digital camera that will knock the socks off anything that you might find in a phone.
